Monday – Students will be introduced to Statistics:

  • What is a statistical question?
  • Finding Mean, Median, and Mode.
  • Looking at Line Plots and analyzing data.

Tuesday – Students will look at Box Plots; Histograms; and Line Plots and interpret data.

Wednesday BUZZMATH assigned {due TODAY by 3:30} – MAP Review

Thursday – Friday – Students will be reviewing for the MAP test

Monday – Students will review Writing and Evaluating Equations & Inequalities (whiteboard problems in class).

Tuesday – NEW BUZZMATH assigned {due 5/2 by 3:30}Students will be working on using formulas to solve for Perimeter, Area, Volume and Surface Area.

  • After-school Tutoring 3:30 – 4:30

Wednesday – Friday – Students will have class time to work through their Geometry Buzzmath.  There are 4 videos in our “Geometry” Google Classroom that will help if students have forgotten their formulas.

April 16 – 20

Monday – Students will work on writing and evaluating equations.

Tuesday – Students will continue working on writing and evaluating equations.

Wednesday – Students will work on writing and graphing inequalities.

Thursday –  Students will continue working on writing and graphing inequalities; they will also begin solving inequalities.

Friday –  BUZZMATH assigned {due TODAY by 3:30}; Students will write an equation to express one quantity, the dependent variable, in terms of the other quantity, the independent variable and analyze the relationship between two variables using graphs and tables.

April 9 – 13

Tuesday – Some students are reviewing for their Post-Formative; other students will be solving equations and inequalities using substitution.

Tuesday – Students will continue exploring the Commutative, Associative, and Distributive PropertyProperties and Simplifying Expressions worksheet assigned.

Wednesday – Students will continue exploring the Commutative, Associative, and Distributive Property – simplifying equivalent expressions.

Thursday –  Students will take a formative assessment {6.EE.A.3 – Apply Properties to Create Equivalent Expressions}.  Properties and Simplifying Expressions worksheet is due today.

Friday –  Formative Assessments will be returned.  Students will have a chance to ask questions and go over their assessment.  Some students will be reviewing for their Post-Formative assessment; other students who have mastered the unit will be doing a comparison activity with expressions – equations – inequalities.

  • Parent Teacher Conferences will be this week.  Lime Team is available for “Drop-in” conferences on Monday, March 26 (3:45 – 5:45); Tuesday, March 27 (3:45 – 7:45 with a dinner break @ 5:30 -6:15); Wednesday, March 28 (3:45 – 5:15)
  • There are NO after-school late bus, activities, tutoring or clubs this week EXCEPT Track & Field club on Wednesday.

Monday – Students will look back through their Quiz from Friday.  Students will do whiteboard practice problems to review writing algebraic expressions.

Tuesday – Students will continue play a Kahoot that practices writing algebraic expressions and simplifying properties.

  • NO after-school tutoring

Wednesday – Students will play a BINGO game reviewing properties.

Thursday –  Some students will re-take a formative assessment {6.EE.B.6 – Writing and Evaluating Expressions}.  Others will continue working on simplifying expressions using the Commutative, Associative, and Distributive Properties.

Thursday –  Students will begin looking at the Distributive Property and how it is used in algebra to simplify expressions.

Friday – Students will take a formative assessment {6.EE.B.6 – Writing and Evaluating Expressions}.  Students will also add notes to their Math Journal on Properties {Identity Property; Associative Property; Commutative Property; Distributive Property}

Monday 3/5 – Students will continue working on evaluating a numerical expression using substitution.  NEW BUZZMATH assigned – due 3/13 @ 3:30

Tuesday 3/6 – Students will take a formative assessment {6.EE.A.2c – Evaluating Numerical Expressions}.  Student will also begin working on an activity called “Widgets” using algebra tiles to strengthen their understanding of algebraic expressions; combining like terms; and using distributive property.

  • After-school tutoring 3:30 – 4:30

Wednesday 3/7 –  Students will continue working through the “Widgets” activity.

Thursday 3/8 –  Students will continue working through the “Widgets” activity.

Friday 3/9 – EARLY RELEASE @ 12:30 – School wide 3rd Quarter I-Choose Movie reward

Monday 3/12 – Students will work on using formulas to solve expressions.

Tuesday 3/13 – BUZZMATH DUE @ 3:30 –  students will continue working on using a formula.

Tuesday – Students will be given work time in class to finish working on their Order of Operations worksheet and/or Buzzmath.

  • After-school tutoring 3:30 – 4:30

Wednesday –  Order of Operations worksheet DUE TODAY @ 9:00.  Students will glue in notes on translating a description into a mathematical expression and using a variable to represent an unknown quantity.  In class students will do a sorting activity with a partner.

Thursday –  Students will play a puzzle game to review Order of Operations involving exponents.

Friday –  BUZZMATH DUE @ 3:30 (assigned last Wednesday 2/21)

 

February 19 – 23
